Transcon has assembled a team of project managers, planners, natural and cultural resource specialists, and permitting specialists in order to meet the needs of the telecommunication industry. We have set ourselves apart with the development and knowledgable use of innovative tools that enhance communication and increase efficiency. These tools include the Virtual Site Visit, the Project Portal, Unmanned Aerial Systems, 360-degree interactive imagery, and mobile data collection.
Transcon supported IXC with feasibility studies on over 20,000 miles of ROW across the country.
AT&T, Nexgen FiberThis fiber optic installation project involved a national reinforcement of AT&T’s existing system. This project was one of their most signifi cation backbone builds that extended from Texas to southern California, approximately 1,300 miles long. Transcon’s involvement included assisting the environmental management for teams securing permits to perform National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) compliance and compliance inspection.
Emery Telcom, Blanding to Bluff and Montezuma CreekTranscon permitted fiber accross the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Navajo, Bureau of Land Management, and state land. The project included working with allottees on the Ute land to secure consent to survey, appraisal, and negotiations in addition to Bureau of Indian Affairs coordination. Transcon performed all of the coordination and environmental studies and environmental documents for the project.
Vero Networks, Digital 299 Broadband ProjectTranscon performed third-party NEPA and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance activities, including data collection, technical studies, preparation of a joint NEPA/CEQA document (Environmental Assessment/Initial Study), and permitting support. Transcon was asked to perform third-party project management activities in lieu of a federal lead. This position involved intensive coordination among agencies, administrative support, meeting facilitation, and other duties as requested by agencies.
Tohono O’odham Utility Authority (TOUA), Hanam Kek-FormerlyTranscon biologists surveyed the entire project area for the protected Sonoran desert tortoise and two culturally sensitive species: the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl and the saguaro cactus. Conservation measures were recommended and followed during the project duration. Additionally, Transcon completed all the Clean Water Act compliance requirements, including the documentation of jurisdictional washes pursuant to Section 404, submittal package for clearance related to Section 401 Water Quality Certification, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit Section 402.
