Effective use of spatial data is at the heart of research, analysis, and public engagement. Transcon’s GIS staff understands the nuanced requirements of resource mapping and is skilled at developing clear and attractive map products. Our staff provides data inventory, analysis, cartography, and graphic design in a highly cost-effective and time-efficient program. We also offer sensitivity and opportunity/constraint mapping, metadata files, and database storage. We are accustomed to utilizing existing GIS databases available from land and resource management agencies and to providing GIS information obtained during the course of a project back to the agencies.
In addition to extensive cartography, inventory, and analysis with Esri desktop applications, we utilize Esri web and mobile mapping technology (Survey123, Collector for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript/WebApp Builder) to offer streamlined, efficient, data collection and information delivery. We configure Survey123 and Collector for ArcGIS to collect consistent, clean data in the field, making it readily available for project managers and stakeholders to view, analyze, use for planning, decision-making, and facilitating weekly meetings on our interactive web application, Virtual Site Visit (VSV). Additionally, we operate drone technology, collecting 360-degree georeferenced imagery and videos that are posted to the VSV, allowing project managers to understand ground situations remotely. We provide all of these services in-house, which means that we can better control our schedules and provide better quality control of products and deliverables.
